Project Description

This project was carried out and part funded under SEAI’s Better Energy Warmer Homes Scheme, Area Based Scheme 2013.
 
SE Systems installed deep retrofit and energy upgrade works to 1960s constructed Local Authority Apartment Block. 67% of the homes were energy poor. A total of 9 apartments received Energy Upgrades. All homes were occupied during the installation of works which took 10 weeks to complete. Rigorous reporting and QA procedures were in place for the duration of the project.
 
SE Systems were appointed as Main Contractor and PSCS to co-ordinate, survey and install the following energy upgrade measures.

As Main Contractor and PSCS  for this project SE Systems carried out the following roles:
 
  1. Safe and efficient  delivery of project in compliance with Health & Safety Authority legislation. Daily safety audits were conducted during works by SE Systems designated Safety Officer. 
  2. A detailed Site Safety Management Plan, Task Specific Risk Assessments and Detailed Method Statements were prepared and approved by concerned parties prior to commencement of works throughout the  various program stages.
  3. The site was registered and updated with the HSA through the AF1 and AF2 online process.
  4. Daily safety audits were conducted during works by SE Systems designated Safety Officer.
  5. SE Systems as main contractor appointed sub contractors for various trades from their approved contractors list.  Each contractor was fully briefed in their role and were issued with a detailed programme of works outlining start and completion dates.
  6. SE Systems conducted weekly site meetings with all contractors and reviewed works programme until completion.
