Project Summary
 
This project was carried out and part funded under SEAI’s Better Energy Communities (BEC) Scheme 2013.
 
Moderate energy upgrades to 39 local authority properties in Oldcastle and Drumcondrath, Co. Meath. 
 
The scope of the work for this project is as follows:
 
Attic  Insulation | Cavity Wall Insulation | Installation of Condensing Boilers with Fully Integrated Heating Controls | Removal of Solid Fuel Back Boilers and the Installation of Room Heating Stoves. 

Oil SMART monitors were installed in the homes to assist homeowners with the budget management and use monitoring of their heating oil requirements.  

As Main Contractor for this Project, SE Systems carried out the following roles:
 
  1. Project Supervisor Construction Stage.
  2.  Project Management.
  3.  Health and Safety Co-ordinator.
  4.  Appointment and Management of Sub-Contractors to include all trades.
  5.  Scheduling of Work Programmes and administration of weekly site meetings.
  6. Liaise with Tenants and Island Energy Committee on work schedules.
  7. Quality Control of all Energy Upgrade Measures.
  8. Maintenance of SEAI – Technical and Quality Standards.
  9. Issue of External Wall insulation Warranties and Homeowner Aftercare manuals to Homeowners who received External Wall Insulation.
The success of this project lies mainly in the innovative partnership approach taken with all project partners; SE Systems, Meath County Council, NCE Insulation, SEAI and Electric Ireland.
