Project Summary
 
This project was carried out and part funded under SEAI’s Better Energy Communities (BEC) Scheme 2014.
 
This project focused on delivering energy efficiency upgrade works to a poorly insulated two story education and training centre; built initially as a warehouse in 1976, which offers education, support and counselling to people between the ages of 15 to 20 years old.
 
The scope of the work for this project is as follows:
 
Install High Efficiency Condensing Gas Boiler Upgrades  | Attic Insulation | Cavity wall Insulation
 
As Main Contractor for this Project, SE Systems carried out the following roles:
 
  1. Project Management.
  2. Health and Safety Co-ordinator.
  3. Appointment and Management of Sub-Contractors to include all trades.
  4. Scheduling of Work Programmes and administration of weekly site meetings.
  5. Co-ordination of Services.
  6. Liaise with Tenants on a daily basis.
  7. Quality Control of all Energy Upgrade Measures.
  8. Maintenance of SEAI - Technical and Quality Standards.
  9. Issue of External Wall Insulation Warranties and Homeowner Aftercare manuals to Homeowners who receive External Wall Insulation.
The success of this project lies mainly in the innovative partnership approach taken with all project partners; SE Systems, NCE Insulation, Cork County VEC, SEAI and REIL.
