Project Description
 
This project was carried out and part funded under SEAI’s Better Energy Communities (BEC) programme 2013.
 
Deep energy upgrade to 41 mixed ownership homes in Birr, Co. Offaly.  90% of the homes are energy poor. Deep energy upgrade to 21 local authority homes in Birr, Co Offaly and 40 fuel poor residents in Co. Roscommon.
 
SE Systems were appointed as Main Contractor and PSCS for deep retrofit of Energy Efficient Measures.
 
The project included installing a range of  energy measures including;
 
Roof insulation | Cavity Wall Insulation | Window & Door Replacement | Boiler Installation with fully integrated Heating Control Upgrade | Solid fuel Room Heater Installation | CFL Lighting | Building Energy Ratings
 
As Main Contractor and PSCS  for this project SE Systems carried out the following roles.
  1. Safe and efficient delivery of project in compliance with Health & Safety Authority legislation. Daily safety audits were conducted during works by SE Systems designated Safety Officer. 
  2. A detailed Site Safety Management Plan, Task Specific Risk Assessments and Detailed Method Statements were prepared and approved by concerned parties prior to commencement of works throughout the  various program stages.
  3. The site was registered and updated with the HSA through the AF1 and AF2 online process.
  4. Daily safety audits were conducted during works by SE Systems designated Safety Officer.
  5. SE Systems as main contractor appointed sub contractors for various trades from their approved contractors list.  Each contractor was fully briefed in their role and were issued with a detailed programme of works outlining start and completion dates.
  6. SE Systems conducted weekly site meetings with all contractors and reviewed works programme until completion.
