Better Energy Communities, RIDC


Project Summary
 
This project was carried out and part funded under SEAI’s Better Energy Communities (BEC) Scheme 2014.
 
SE Systems installed deep energy upgrades to 24 local authority homes in Drumbaune East Birr, Co Offaly and 64 rural fuel poor homes in Co. Westmeath and Co. Roscommon.
 
SE Systems were appointed as Main Contractor and PSCS to co-ordinate, survey and install the following energy upgrade measures.
 
Attic Insulation | Pumped Cavity Wall Insulation including Ventilation | External Wall Insulation including Ventilation|  Window & Door Replacement | High Efficiency Boiler Installation With Fully Integrated Heating Control Upgrade | Solid Fuel Room Heater Installation | CFL Lighting  | Building Energy Ratings
 
As Main Contractor for this Project, SE Systems carried out the following roles:
 
  1. Project Management.
  2. Health and Safety Co-ordinator.
  3. Appointment and Management of Sub-Contractors to include all trades.
  4. Scheduling of Work Programmes and administration of weekly site meetings.
  5. Co-ordination of Services.
  6. Liaise with Tenants on a daily basis.
  7. Quality Control of all Energy Upgrade Measures.
  8. Maintenance of SEAI - Technical and Quality Standards.
  9. Issue of External Wall Insulation Warranties and Homeowner Aftercare manuals to Homeowners who receive External Wall Insulation. 
 
The success of this project lies mainly in the innovative partnership approach  taken with all project partners, Roscommon LEADER Partnership, Offaly County Council, SSE Airtricity, SE Systems, NCE Insulation and SEAI.
