Project Summary
This project was carried out and part funded under SEAI’s Better Energy Communities (BEC) Scheme 2014.
This innovative project involved a partnership between Energia, Westgate Foundation and SE Systems.
A range of energy saving measures were identified and installed across Westgate Foundations large complex of Sheltered Housing, Daycare Centre and Administration offices which
resulted in greater financial savings to the non-profit organisation and increased comfort to the Elderly residents.
The scope of work for this project is as follows.
Energy Audit | Attic Insulation | Cavity Wall Insulation | High Efficiency Boiler Upgrade | Radeco Zoned Control Systems | Building Management Systems
As Main Contractor for this Project, SE Systems carried out the following roles:

Project Supervisor Construction Stage.

Project Management.

Health and Safety Co-ordinator.

Appointment and Management of Sub-Contractors to include all trades.

Scheduling of Work Programmes and administration of weekly site meetings.

Liaise with Tenants and Island Energy Committee on work schedules.

Quality Control of all Energy Upgrade Measures.

Maintenance of SEAI – Technical and Quality Standards.

Training of Staff for Remote Heating Controls

Issue of Cavity Wall insulation Warranties and Homeowner Aftercare manuals to Homeowners who received Cavity Wall Insulation.
The success of this project lies mainly in the innovative partnership approach taken with all project partners; SE Systems, Westgate Foundation, Energia and SEAI.
