SUE RYDER 1

Sue Ryder, Ballyroan Day Care Centre

Project Summary

This project was carried out and part funded under SEAI’s Better Energy Communities (BEC) Scheme 2014.

The Sue Ryder Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping older people live safely, securely and independently. Each year this concept is getting more difficult as energy costs are continuing to grow.

Sue Ryder Foundation contacted us to assist them in addressing this problem. Our aim was to reduce the ever increasing spend in heating the homes and making them more comfortable by selecting the most suitable energy efficient technology.

The scope of the work for this project is as follows.

Installed Air Sourced Heat Pumps | Backup LPG Gas Boilers | Innovative Heating Remote Control | Cavity Wall Insulation | Attic Insulation | CFL Lighting | Window and Door Replacement | Chimney Draught Stop | Magnacleanse

As Main Contractor for this Project, SE Systems carried out the following roles:

  1. Project Management.
  2. Health and Safety Co-ordinator.
  3. Appointment and Management of Sub-Contractors to include all trades.
  4. Scheduling of Work Programmes and administration of weekly site meetings.
  5. Co-ordination of Services.
  6. Liaise with Tenants on a daily basis.
  7. Quality Control of all Energy Upgrade Measures.
  8. Maintenance of SEAI - Technical and Quality Standards.
  9. Issue of Cavity Wall Insulation Warranties and Homeowner Aftercare manuals to Homeowners who receive Cavity Wall Insulation.

The success of this project lies mainly in the innovative partnership approach taken with all project partners; NCE Insulation, SE Systems, SSE Airtricity, Flogas and SEAI.
