Lettermore Energy Upgrade, Lettermore Island Galway
Project Summary
This project was carried out and part funded under SEAI’s Better Energy Warmer Homes Area Based Scheme 2014.
SE Systems were contracted by a Galway based Community Based Organisation, First Class Insulation to assist them in delivering this project.
SE Systems were appointed as main contractor and PSCS.
The project involved a deep retrofit of energy upgrade measures to 39 Fuel Poor Homes on Lettermore Island, Co. Galway. The project was completed successfully in 14 weeks.
The scope of the work for this project is as follows.
High Efficiency Oil Boiler Upgrades | Fully Integrated Heating Control | External Wall Insulation inc Ventilation | Cavity Wall Insulation inc Ventilation | Attic Insulation inc Ventilation | Window & Door Replacement | Chimney Draught Stop | CFL Lighting | Building Energy Ratings | Energy Advice
As Main Contractor for this Project, SE Systems carried out the following roles:

Project Supervisor Construction Stage.

Project Management.

Health and Safety Co-ordinator.

Appointment and Management of Sub-Contractors to include all trades.

Scheduling of Work Programmes and administration of weekly site meetings.

Liaise with Tenants and Island Energy Committee on work schedules.

Quality Control of all Energy Upgrade Measures.

Maintenance of SEAI – Technical and Quality Standards.

Issue of External Wall insulation Warranties and Homeowner Aftercare manuals to Homeowners who received External Wall Insulation.
The success of this project lies mainly in the innovative partnership approach taken with all project partners; SE Systems, First Class Insulation, SEAI and ESB Networks.
