Farranferris Education & Training Centre
Project Summary
This project was carried out and part funded under SEAI’s Better Energy Communities (BEC) Scheme 2014.
The project objective was to bring an 1870s listed building with 4,000m2 total floor space up to energy efficient standards.
Farranferris Education & Training Centre is a multi-use property for educational, training, crèche, bakery, laundry, offices & gaelscoil.
The North Side Community Enterprise developed this formerly 3 story vacant building into a leading training and education campus which now caters for 350 trainees in various funded initiatives.
The scope of the work for this project is as follows:
Sub-Distribution Board Upgrade | Low Energy Lighting Upgrade | PIR & Daylight Sensor Lighting | Fire Alarm Upgrade | 10,000L Water Storage Tanks & Infrastructure | High Efficiency Gas Boiler Upgrade | Solar Cylinder Installation | Multiple Toilet Block Upgrades | Access Control & Intruder Alarm Systems | Car Park & External LED Lighting
As Main Contractor for this Project, SE Systems carried out the following roles:

Project Management.

Health and Safety Co-ordinator.

Appointment and Management of Sub-Contractors to include all trades.

Scheduling of Work Programmes and administration of weekly site meetings.

Co-ordination of Services.

Liaise with Tenants on a daily basis.

Quality Control of all Energy Upgrade Measures.

Maintenance of SEAI - Technical and Quality Standards.

Issue of External Wall Insulation Warranties and Homeowner Aftercare manuals to Homeowners who receive External Wall Insulation.
The success of this project lies mainly in the innovative partnership approach taken with all project partners; SE Systems, NCE Insulation, SEAI and REIL.
