Project Summary
 
Clár IRD is a Voluntary Housing Association which aims to promote sustainable living in Claremorris, Co Mayo. The Lawn is a development of 26 homes in Claremorris. SE Systems assisted Clár IRD in the deployment of this project. SE Systems identified the most cost effective method to heat the homes efficiently. 
 
This project was carried out and part funded under SEAI’s Better Energy Communities (BEC) Scheme 2014.
 
The scope of the work for this project is as follows:
 
Natural Gas Central Heating With Remote Control | Cavity Wall Insulation | CFL lighting  | Chimney Draft Stops | Energy Advice | Building Energy Ratings  
 

As Main Contractor for this Project, SE Systems carried out the following roles:

  1. Project Management.
  2. Health and Safety Co-ordinator.
  3. Appointment and Management of Sub-Contractors to include all trades.
  4. Scheduling of Work Programmes and administration of weekly site meetings.
  5. Co-ordination of Services.
  6. Liaise with Tenants on a daily basis.
  7. Quality Control of all Energy Upgrade Measures.
  8. Maintenance of SEAI - Technical and Quality Standards.
  9. Issue of Cavity Wall Insulation Warranties and Homeowner Aftercare manuals to Homeowners who receive Cavity Wall Insulation. 

The success of this project lies mainly in the innovative partnership approach taken with all project partners; REIL, SE Systems, Flogas, Mayo County Council  and SEAI.
